New Items and Announcements
October 2025
We have many new announcement this month! First is the launch of the newly-designed website! Due to the phasing out of the web host that we'd use for the past 15+ years, I scrambled to re-build the site to resemble the old site as much as possible. I hope you enjoy the new design and find it to be faster and more functional! On a related note, our candle prices had not increased since pre-pandemic. Unfortunately, prices for all goods and services have inflated by about 25% since that time. So, with the updated website launch, I also made the difficult decision to increase candle prices by 10-15%. This was necessary to keep up with costs, and I sincerely hope you will continue to find the candles to be a great value for their quality.
Next is what I truly believe to be a dramatic improvement to the white beeswax. Our previous source of white beeswax claimed to be processed without chemicals, but I was never happy with the fragrance. I searched far and wide, and finally found a new American supplier whose white beeswax is phenomenal. A family company based in North Carolina, they mechanically filter the wax three times, through consecutively smaller pores, to remove pollen and propolis that contribute to the original yellow color. NO CHEMICALS or bleaching is used, so the wax retains its wonderfully sweet and natural fragrance, yet with a warm white/ivory color. I am very happy with the fragrance and the clean burn. Too often, a "new and improved" product design from a company turns out to be a major disappointment, but I am very hopeful that all of you will like this white beeswax as much as I do. Please contact me with any questions or concerns!
Third is another major improvement to the dyes used in the colored candles. (This has no effect on the classic natural yellow or white candles.) I spent the summer testing a new ECO dye and am very pleased with its safety profile and rich colors. Manufactured in New Jersey by a French company, the EcoReach dye is:
- unscented
- free of phthalates and parabens
- vegan-friendly, using a vegetable solvent
- REACH compliant (REACH being the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals regulation)
- RAL compliant (RAL being Germany's Institute for Quality Assurance and Labeling, which is an optional certification for products that exceed the standard legal requirements)
- free of any chemicals that fall under California's Proposition 65.
This is another case where I am genuinely convinced that the "new and improved" really is new and improved. Due to the health and safety standards that this dye reaches, I do not intend to go back to the old dye, though some candles created with the old dye will be listed on the clearance page.
The last announcement is that we have some some new designs for the holidays! The Advent countdown candles are finally back, and available now on the Advent/Christmas page! I intend to keep them in stock throughout the season. We also have two large pillars with reindeer and winter scenes; a bell-shaped candle with intricate designs on its surface; decorated ball candles that look like ornaments; and three small shaped votives: a fancy Christmas tree, Santa, and a snowman. These make cute decorations or gifts!
Thank you as always for supporting my small business! I hope to hear from you soon, or see you at one of the local craft shows.
September 2025
This month we are introducing three all-new 100% beeswax candles! The lily-of-the-valley and chrysanthemum pillars complement the "spring pillar" candle set we have been offering for many years. They are beautifully adorned with detailed floral designs. The honeybee meadow mini pillar is a small pillar (slightly larger than a votive) decorated with bees, blooming flowers, and honeycomb! They make a cheerful gift. As always, the candles are made in my home studio with 100% Michigan and Wisconsin beeswax, and braided cotton wicks.
Several new Christmas/holiday items will be available starting October 1st-- and, yes, the Advent countdown candles will finally be back this year!
